Belated Reaction to the Episode of Awesome.

Oh, man, I loved that so much! The Morgana/Gwen... the Merlin/Morgana... the Arthur/Morgana... the Arthur/Gwen... the Uther/Morgana... GODDAMMIT.

OK, so Morgana is a BAMF, y/y? I love her when she's being violently sarcastic and/or evil. Hell, I love her. Full stop.

But, seriously. I loves her in this episode. It's shown that she does have Uther's temper, and they're not so different. (Did you notice that she was wearing gloves at the grave? Like the ones that Uther only took off once, to touch her? I DID.) And it also shows that she's very morally ambiguous, but she's not quite evil yet.

What happened to the stone? I kind of want to see it again (if it can change the nature of things, then it isn't limited to lead and gold. And thus could be a very useful tool), but the only way I could see it re-entering is if Morgana pocketed it after killing the guy, or if someone else finds it and brings it back to Camelot later. Or it could just disappear, which I think would be a huge waste.

Oh my God, the Morgana/Gwen! They were, like, touching! Plus how angry Morgana got on Gwen's behalf (although, from a non-shipper viewpoint, it was more like transferred issues about her own daddy). They are so cute together. :)

Also, I ship Arthur/Gwen now. I don't know if it's their off-screen friendship or what, but I loved their scene together. I was actally squeeing. But Arthur being all remorseful and awkward, and Gwen being so quietly confused and yet understanding... I think that they could actually be good for each other. Before this, I figured that it would be a marriage of convenience, or a mistake. But now... I'm thinking that they could have a romance of their own, even if it'd ultimately be doomed. What with Lancelot, and all that.

And, of course, Uther/Morgana. He admitted he was wrong! He shows how much he cares about Morgana! She saved him at the last minute! They hugged! ("You're the daughter I never had" -- Oh, bull.) Oh, and I hope Morgana keeps those scars. Not only will they be very useful in the future (convincing people that she's against Uther, like here), but also to remind her of what she almost did -- and what Uther did.

Oh, yeah, and the plot. I liked the idea of the resistance group -- although I'd like to see a group that are genuinely trying to make things better, rather than just saying that they should kill Uther and all will be well. I loved the debate between Gaius and Merlin as well... it makes me wonder what Camelot was like before Uther became king. I can imagine why sorcery could be troublesome (this is the first time we saw magic do something illegal -- if lead turns into gold, hello inflation -- but I'm sure there's plenty more where that came from. Mind control, untraceable murder -- Uther may be extreme, but he does have a point), and it doesn't seem to be the focus of his reign, although right now it's a big deal. He was too quick to kill Tom, that's true, but... I like the idea that Uther isn't entirely wrong to be suspicious.

Truly deserving of the title of episode of awesome.

I think anyone who still doesn't ship Arthur/Gwen is mad, now.

Pretty much. Or at least see the potential, at any rate.
